Life is not yet easy in the Big Easy. You have to admire the spirit of New Orleans, going forward with the Mardi Gras celebration this year after all the suffering they have endured. It is a true testament to the phenomenal endurance of the human spirit after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Although they expect only 400,000 celebrants, just half the number of previous years, the festivities live on. Mardi Gras has been canceled only 13 times in its 200 year history, and hasn't been canceled since the Korean War. It's a controversial decision as many people are still not back in their homes. However, we hope it will give a much-needed boost to the local economy and promote the return of the tourism that the city needs to recover. I think they deserve our ongoing support as they rebuild and our applause for their strength of spirit.
We'll be celebrating Mardi Gras at Computer Magic Training this year with Mardi Gras beads, boas and beignets. If you're taking a class here on "Fat Tuesday", we'll "pass a good time, cher!"
